“I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” John 13:15

The Empowered by Weaknesses project was created in 2017 at the initiative of Sergei Saponenko to help orphans, people with special needs, and other needy people by providing them with the most necessary things.

My name is Sergei Saponenko. I was born in 1966 in Belarus. From the first minutes of my life I have suffered from cerebral palsy — my hands and feet do not work, speech is difficult, and I cannot eat by myself. I studied verbally. In 1988 I turned my life over to Jesus Christ. In 1996, I got a computer. At first I was trying to press the keys with my nose. Now I write by pressing the keys with a stick attached to a hoop on my head.

saponenko_bioI write poetry; hundreds of my poems have been turned into songs. I have published many poetry books. In 2008, I married Tamara and moved to the United States. In 2011, we had a daughter, Daniella. In 2017, I created  the Empowered by Weaknesses project, supported by the Connect International mission.

I’ve had meetings in many cities, during which my poems and songs have been heard. At these meetings, with the help of my team, I tell people how the Lord transformed my life and gave me a great purpose. I visit orphanages, boarding schools, and other institutions.

I would be happy if you join me and help my ministry to disadvantaged people.
