Noah’s Ark Ministry started simply, with camps for kids. It was Peter Tkachuk’s vision to take the Noah’s Ark program (including skits and an actual boat he built!) and reach out to children in villages where the Gospel is rarely preached. From there, Noah’s Ark Ministry has grown, as has their family and their team. They soon learned that camps, rafting trips, and prayer encounters provided a wonderful open door to share Christ with people of all ages! They now do many camps and outreaches throughout the summer months, as well as special outreaches during the fall/early winter months.
Peter and Irina Tkachuk started Noah’s Ark Ministry over 17 years ago in Ukraine, their homeland. Ten years ago, they had the opportunity to come to the United States. When they left Ukraine, their dream and prayer was to somehow, some way be able to continue their ministry, which seemed impossible at the time. However, God answered their prayers with many miracles and opened the door for them to go back each year! They have been able to keep their home in Ukraine and spend each summer and fall there in order to continue their work! During the winter and spring, they live in California, working and raising funds for their ministry.
Many of the people in the original small group have become team members for ongoing ministry. Their children, Nadya (married to Sergey), Anna (married to Rezik), and Daniel (in grade school) are involved in this ministry as well.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
Below are photos from one of our summer prayer encounters. We went camping for several days and spent time drawing near to the Lord. We had originally planned for 80 people to come, but a few days before this outreach the numbers grew to 130! Also, we had trouble finding a cook because so many are being sanctioned for war. However, God provided for our needs and blessed this time of ministry. People accepted Jesus into their hearts and many were open to God!
